Topic: Technologies for TV and Radio Program Production Using Artificial Intelligence.
Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to dramatically change the style of program and news production by enabling new technologies such as image analysis, speech recognition, speech synthesis and text big-data analysis.
In 2016, NHK aggregated our research outcomes of AI technologies for over 30 years and established a cross-functional research team, Smart Production Lab, in NHK Science and Technology Research Laboratories as a base for promoting working-style reform by efficient program production and accelerating interdepartmental cooperation and practical application for user-friendly broadcasting. I will introduce latest examples of our project.
